Mina Zoulovits, ZK Law Firm Partner, gave an insightful speech during the 7th e-business & social media world conference on how to approach GDPR, the General Regulation for the Protection of Personal Data recently introduced in the European Union, with an eye to clients. The presentation focused on the most important aspects of GDPR that a business needs to take under consideration in order to adopt to the most recent change regarding the processing of personal data and (continue to) offer consumer-friendly options to clients. Some key points included:

  • Data flow mapping and the realization of actual data needs of a corporation
  • Useful lists of consumer data and cost minimization for better analytics
  • Corporations “borrow” personal data from data subjects rather than “take” them
  • Plain and elligible language for accurate and transparent notification towards consumers is now an obligation – not just a best practice
  • Consent requirements and processing purposes – legacy data and proper legal bases for marketing purposes
  • Cookies, profiling and dasboards for the management of personal data
  • All businesses offer unique products and services, therefore require tailor-made solutions to any GDPR issues they are facing

The presentation took place during the 7th EBSMW conference. You can watch the video on Youtube.
