On 20 Janurary 2022, ZK Law Firm Partner, Mina Zoulovits, and Associate Zoe Syrmakezi, held a lecture on the topic of “Digital marketing & personal data protection” at the International Hellenic University for the Digital Marketing MSc Program, addressed to a diverse, multi-disciplinary academic audience. The lecture aimed at familiarizing marketing students with the concepts of personal data protection and processing in the context of digital marketing. The lecture revolved around issues such as:
- Legal framework applicable to personal data usage for digital marketing, examples of personal data used for marketing and their treatment under the legal bases of GDPR
- Implementation of opt-in and opt-out mechanisms for direct marketing communication
- Cookies and the legal approach for their use in online marketing
- Profiling & marketing under GDPR
- Loyalty programs
The lecturers were invited to teach the course once again this January.
