On 28 Janurary 2023, ZK Law Firm Partner, Mina Zoulovits, and Associate Zoe Syrmakezi, held a lecture on the topic of “Digital marketing & personal data protection” at the International Hellenic University in the course of the MSc in e-Business and Digital Marketing.
Τhe speakers addressed the key legal issues relating to digital marketing campaigns, highlighting to the future marketeers:
- the legal framework for direct marketing campaigns (GDPR and electornic communications laws)
- the legal bases applicable to loyalty programs under GDPR
- how personal data collected through cookies can be legally used in the context of retargeting
Participation from the student audience was rather vivid and focused on the role of the legislation and the need for preparation of a legally though-out strategy when implementing digital marketing tools and campaigns. The lecturers were invited to teach the class again next year.
